"The one positive to come out of today is it is the end of the season for us. I am probably struggling to find the right adjective to describe today. We have put enough excuses up for them this year but I think some things are inexcusable. Today probably summed up a little bit of what we've been about this year , not good enough, indisciplined and weak at times. Unfortunately you don't get two points for training sessions; you get two points for turning up and putting the effort in on a weekend. You might say they had a tough week last week , they did but we were too easily , readily to fall behind that excuse. It was unfortunate for Matt Sing that he has to go out in a game like that today. It's unfortunate because his effort and committment throughout his time at our club and throughout his career has never been doubted.
We are going to have a look at the squad. We will certainly be taking a long hard look at our squad and the depth of it and quality of it. It is very difficult at this time of year with the market but I think some blokes have probably had their last chance."
The team
Hall , Sing, G Horne, Yeaman , Raynor, Washbrook , Webster, Dowes , Berrigan , Cusack , Manu , Tickle , Radford , Subs , Houghton , Lee , Thackray, Burnett.
Well Hall's in Widnes , Sing retired ( it wasn't his fault anyway according to Agar) and Webster doesn't count.
The rest , they're all still here one season on. What a waste of a year. What a stupid coach.
AND Whiting and Moa weren't involved last year. Houghton was sub. Those three arguably our best players against Leeds couldn't get in front of those who'd had their last chances a year a year ago against Cas!!!!!!!!!

Put in black and white like that really does say it all.
I agree about the selection policy but its difficult to just kick players out of the club without replacements lined up. He was stupid to make those comments when he knew they would have to see out their contracts.
Reading the title I thought it was about past players.
Anybody see that "Ripping Yarns" episode with Micheal Palin a few years ago?
In it he was so pi$$ed off with his local football team losing,he recruited all the old hands to come back.
Knocker Norton,Charlie Stone,Dane O` Hara anyone.?

Anyone who's seen these guys and others come back for reunions will see how much passion for Hull FC they still have. If even 1% of what they had/have was in the team that's been running onto the field in black and white this year, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

That though is the point , he surely knew what the contract situation was so why make a statement like that when there was nothing he could do about it? And which players is he referring to? Do they know? If they do , and let's face it they'll have a good idea , it's hardly likely to motivate them is it? It's divisive at best. It's the old "cancer" thing all over again. If you can't name and shame and get rid there's not much point in saying anything. All of the players get smeared unless names are named which if you're giving your all must be pretty dispiriting. Agar would have known exactly what each player was when he got the job , he wasn't new to the club or the players , so he knew what was needed with all of them. It was his job and still is to get the best out of what we've got until he could change it. He has achieved exactly the opposite.

Top quality post which hits the nail on the head.
Ultimately the buck stops with Agar and he should go now.
I think that statement perhaps sums up Agar as a coach and the authority that he holds within the club. We all saw at that particular game how the players generally seemed like they couldn't be d to be there whilst Rovers played with grit and determination as well as having pride in their performance. Utterly embarrassing
