| Daft question, but is there any chance he was able to apply downward pressure, before the ball hit the deck - or was it already bouncing up? Still photos can sometimes be misleading.

Agree, he's also the same ref who gave KR a try against Leigh in last years M8s from an illegal ptb. In fact the player had hardly left the ground when he played it , but still gave the try. But hey ho that's history now.

I'm no scientist, but unless MCB has the ability to defy gravity and also bounce back up, that photo suggests the ball has been dropped rather than bouncing back up after being grounded lol

It's not a daft question - and whilst there was chance for that to happen, it very definitely didn't on this occasion; it was a no-try, and even from the crappy footage and at full speed, everyone with eyes could see that. Apart from the officials, one of whom was a few feet away and staring intently at the action. Baffling.

Not in this case: the slow-mo was conclusive. That said, in real time the touch judge's decision was not as obvious as some would have it

I can honestly say that in real time, I'd have given that.

| I hadn't seen the replay before my post. I agree it wasn't a try, although have some sympathy for the officials. A video ref would certainly have disallowed it though. Thanks for posting the replay link.

Yep,very difficult for the officials to see that at normal speed,so can't blame them really. I am surprised though ,that a very important game was televised without a VR.
