| According to Wigan's website, This game is going to be played at Widnes and not at Goodison/Anfield as some reports suggested. Just wondered what saints fans thought about this game being played in a 13,000 capacity stadium? Surely demand will far outstip supply of tickets. Considering it is the football off-season, was playing the game at Goodison not viable? It just seems a shame that such a low number of fans will get to see the game, considering it used to fill Knowsley Road and nearly fill the DW.

| Hardly, bit of a difference from watching on TV listening to Eddie and Stevo witter on talking rubbish and actually being there. I'm a wigan fan, so I know there's going to be a mad rush to get tickets. The allocation will be crap, come on saints get it moved to Goodison!

| I'd be very happy for it to be played at Widnes just as the Wire match is being played at Widnes. Widnes is our home for 2011 and personally that's where I'd like to see all our home games played.

| 13,350 is surely not big enough for a Wigan-saints derby? even if it is on sky and at 8 on a friday! Should have sorted a stadium out before getting booted out of Knowsley Road!

The Saints-Wire matches have been sellouts for the last two seasons so they are just as big in terms of turnout as Wigan-Saints. If Wire is being played at Widnes, and it is, then so should Wigan. In addition, I think Saints could do without the outlay of a soccer stadium when they are already paying rent for Widnes, especially since the soccer stadium would be largely empty and so would probably not pay for itself.

There's nothing much else that can be done really, however I have a season ticket so I'll probably pop through the turnstiles about quarter of an hour before kick off to get to my seat lol.

As you have said this game is due to be played during the football off season which brings problems. Most clubs will have routine maitenance work planned during this period. These may be minor items such as repairs to the facilities or replacing damaged kit to a full relaying of the pitch.
Goodison is also likely to be out as this is the best time to do the bulk of the development work for the new retail/hospitality structure that is due to be built in the Park End car park.

| There have been times when we play wire and the HJ has sold out, meaning some Saints fans cant get tickets. We dont start threads on other boards demanding the match is moved to a bigger venue. Why should Saints move the match?moving it would give up'home' advantage (not worth a lot,but still in our favour)as was said,Widnes is our home for 2011 get on with it.
