a good system. the problem is the disciplinary. for me players get off to easily. briers, and bailey a fortnight ago, should have got at least 2 games

There is a difference though with face to face handbags, and a cowardly attack from behind.

For me it doesn't matter who it is, or which team it is, a punch to the head from behind is as bad as a high tackle, and certainly worse than a shoulder charge.

I suppose Briers should have calmly stood up, walked around to the other side of Ablett, to make sure he was facing him, and then struck the blow? Oh, wait a minute.... then it would have been 'premeditated' and involved 'chasing' the other player - a more serious offence.

Depends which way it is viewed by the panel.

If the EGP is accepted and reduces the ban, meaning "penalty sufficient", I disagree with it as it is simply not harsh enough

If the EGP is accepted and the player had been sent off, meaning "sending off sufficient" and that could be harsh enough.

If, however, there is [ufailure[/u to put in an EGP and the player is subsequently found to be guilty, the ban should be [uincreased[/u for trying to get away with it.

He had another option, accept he was tackled fairly and get on with the game.

I'm not saying Briers is a coward but it WAS a cowardly act. We all know he wouldn't have done it face to face.

Any attack from behind is cowardly, no matter how stupid you are to understand.
